Is Your Learning in Kollel Going Too Easy?

One sure way to tell its time to quit Kollel – if your life in kollel is just too easy. It’s fair to say that having an easy life doesn’t make you a better person. Hard work is what defines who you are, builds your character, and brings out the best in you. If learning in kollel truly is your life’s mission, then it wouldn’t be easy.

No mission is ever easy. What is easy?

Easy means sitting down to a gourmet meal that has been prepared for you. Easy means not doing exercise today. Easy means not getting up for davening. Easy means not coming on time to seder. Easy means not writing down the shtikel Torah you came up with. Nothing of substance comes out of easy. If your life is too easy, its probably time for a wake up call.
