You Too Can Lead
The most given reason for not leaving kollel is the fear of not being able to “do anything’ after leaving. While this fear is mostly unfounded, nevertheless, it must be addressed.
Seth Godin is a master author who has spread his ideas far and wide, always in his own signature style of uniquness and non-conformity. In his most recent book, Tribes, he promotes the idea of leadership. Anyone can lead. There are groups of people all over the world looking for a leader, and its easier than ever to get to them.
You may not know what you should do when you leave kollel, but you certainly have ideas that are just waiting to be shared with the world. You can be a leader of willing people. Give yourself that opportunity of leading people who want to be lead.
This blog is an example of leading a tribe. So is this one. And this one. Our topics of interest could not be farther apart, our followers almost certainly don’t overlap. One thing though, unites us – we are leaders of willing and happy followers. They read our posts, comment on them, discuss them, and most of all – care about them.
You too can be a leader. Whether its by starting a blog, or by giving a shiur, or by starting a yeshiva, or even starting a small chessed organization in your neighborhood. So get the book, and start to lead. We need more leaders. And so do you.
